The National Championship Tournament for Prep School teams will be held Albert Magnus College in New Haven Connecticut March 9-10. First round games will have 2pm - #1 Hargrave Military Academy vs. #8 Tilton School, 4pm - #4 Notre Dame Prep vs. #5 Northfield Mount Hermon School, 6pm - #2 Brewster Academy vs. #7 Westwind Prep and 8pm - #3 Winchendon School vs. #6 St. Thomas More School....Prep School Championship
NORTHLAND KEEPS CONSENSUS POLL LEAD
Northland of Columbus, Ohio remains unbeaten and retains their lead in the HoopsUSA Consensus Rating. The rating takes in the rankings of four of the nations most respected polls. Interestingly all four polls rank most of the same teams, so after putting all of the top twenty five polls together we end up with only just over thirty teams out of all the outstanding teams in America. Findlay Prep of Henderson, a school with only eight students, all basketball players, won the National Polls National Championship with a 74-66 victory over Oak Hill Academy of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia....Findlay Prep - An Opinion
WESTCHESTER (CA), FINDLAY PREP (NV),
OAK HILL (VA) & TILTON (NH) WIN TITLES
The season is now over around the nation and the three HoopsUSA High School National Champions have been decided. Los Angeles (CA) Westchester overcame two early losses to finish 35-2 to win the Traditional School National Championship. Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep went undefeated at 33-0 to win the Consensus Rating, but the team they defeated in their last game, Mouth of Wilson (VA) Oak Hill Academy who finished 40-1, was given the HoopsUSA "National" Schools title. Tilton (NH) Tilton Prep Academy finished 29-2 and won the Prep School Division National Championship.
2008-2009 STATE CHAMPIONS
All the State Champions and Runnersup have now been decided. Each State Champion and Runner-Up, both boys and girls, are now listed. Max Preps (G-B) and Rivals have now caught up with my idea and they have done a good job as well but of course they have enormous resources which I do not. All the finalists are shown with their final won-loss records and the city the teams are from. Hopefully my readers will appreciate my effort and be pleased having all the state results in one place rather than searching everywhere trying to get them. Over the years I have had stories about players from the past who scored one hundred or more points in a game or for a high PPG average. 
agrees with my concept regarding teams shown in my "National" ratings. After last year's ratings debacle, I believe that there will come a day when all the national polls, coaches and fans around the country will realize how right we are about this important subject. 
County hills to become the most colorful, most exciting most unforgettable team in the history of Ohio high school basketball. Dick Burnette published a great book about the team in 1961 and finding a copy of that book is now almost imposiible. Now Dick has another book that may become just as much a treasure as the first. I encourage all basketball fans to get a copy. You can find information by calling 
Visitors to this site seem to enjoy stories about past players and events and I will have those up as often as possible. Everything has to go right for a player to score 100 points in a sibgle game. This event happened on a cold and rainy night fifty years in Newberry, South Carolina....
Pete Maravich was destined to be a great basketball player and his coaching father Press made sure there he would secure his legend. He averaged over 44 points per game over a three year period at LSU, and that was before the three point shot took affect. If the three point shot had been the rule as it is now, his averaged would probably have been over 50 PPG. He was one of my all time favorite players and "Pistol" Pete may have been the college best player ever,,,
