The Right Bounce Top 60 Was a huge success thanks to all of you in the basketball community who participated. It was good to see that most of the adults put away their personal issues and let the kids just play basketball. At the end of the day it's about the students not the adults and their wars that have dust on them from being on the shelf for so long. Let's get past the garbage and put New York basketball back on the map. This includes myself as well... I don't have time time waste arguing with anyone about trivial nonsense that only hampers our regions growth.

Many of the regions top players in the building suited for the 4th Annual games sponsored by NIKE, NYCSN, P.O.P.S and StreetballAcademy.com. The games were the most populated in the games existance with more 500 spectators showing their support throughout the afternoon and they weren't letdown as these young men played hard from the tap. A total of 644 points in three games were dropped which is a new Right Bounce Record previously set at 580 in 2005. Now that may give you the impression that this was an all-star game and nobody played defense... WRONG! These were some of the hardest played games in recent memory as every player had something to prove. It was like this is my 'Rep' on the line and you and no one else is going to tarnish it. The matchups were crazy like Doron Lamb Vs. Mike Poole, Kyle Anderson Vs. LeBrent Walker, Kyle Molock Vs. Winston McLeod, Ahmed Mian Vs. the entire opposing team and JayVaughn Pinkston Vs. the gym...

The list of players who participated is unrivaled by any head to head matchup venue in the eastern region in one game as in years past the Right Bounce Games shined. As I drove home there were alot of players that I thought were very talented... But there were six that stood out like the red canvas converse sneakers that Dennis Robertson (CA.) wore in Rucker park and nobody knew who he was back in 1987 until dropped 47 ran out the park and threw his sneakers on the lamp post jumped in his pops Mercedes and you never saw him again.

#1 - Derrick Williams (11th Grade) - Port Richmond H.S. (S.I.) He is the best PSAL bigman in NYC hands down. Raw power at 6' 6' with a Charles Barkley Aurburn University body. Unstoppable! Runs the floor like a track star and doesn't need plays designed for him to a terror which is unusal for a bigman in NYC. His hands are terrific and you'll probably hear about this kid getting offers to play football at the next level. If you haven't heard or seen him yet, you must. He is a special player for New York. !st team All-City player.

#2 - Doron Lamb (11th Grade) - Bishop Loughlin he destroyed some of the best players in NYC on this day and there was nothing no one could do about it. He had to scare the coaches that were in attendance from the CHSAA. He is as smooth as they come and when his jumper is working he is basically unstoppable because his handle is real though many say it needs work. To this day I've only seen him get ripped twice. Doron Lamb will be an All-American before his high school days are done.

#3 - JayVaughn Pinkston (10th Grade) - Bishop Loughlin I will just say CHSAA watchout. He will be an All-American before it's all over in high school. Did you here he had 32points against some of the best Sr's on the planet in IS8 two weeks ago? JayVaughn is a monster inside, has a guard handle, passes the ball as well if not better than anyone his size in the city, has a soft touch from 15-18 and will be a first team All-City this season. All-American honors await him.

#4 - Ahmed Mian (10th Grade) NY - I've heard a lot about this kid, but when I saw him doing his thing against some of the better players in the region I was very impressed. Very, very impressed. None stop hustle, good attitude and just plays a complete game with his slashing and shooting. Who ever gets this kid in high school will be very fortunate. I see him dominating in his sophomore year .

#5 - Okoro Nkereweum (9th Grade) NY - Thurgood Marshall Academy - Wow! High energy! This kid is probably the biggest sleeper in NYC. Well that was before saturday... Everybody will know about him now. This kid plays 'D', can score with the best of them and rebounds like Dennis Rodman.

#6 - Kyle Anderson (9th Grade) NJ - With his size and hand eye coordination we may have a Magic Johnson developing before our very eyes. He can do it all and his young age has a calm demeanor that makes him a special type of player.

Now of course these players are young and still have alot to work on but I will say this and yell saying it. The Right Bounce games have fielded some of the best players in the region 4 consecutive years and this crop of prospects is no different. We will hear these names in the future. To the young players I mention in this article, don't get souped up (old slang) and loose your focus. Stay humble and keep grinding in the classroom! Hype is just that, hype! It's about finishing your commitment to yourself and bringing your dreams to fruition (S.A.T. word).
