Darren Gordon is a advance point guard/ shooting guard from charleston, south carolina. He is a great ball handler and has a good ability to get the ball to the basket without any problem he"s in the class of 2011. so he should also be with the top players.

How can you rank Austin Rivers #2? He has several kids on the Dream Team that play CIRCLES around him!!! We were just down there to play them last spring!!!

Doc isn't going to give you a job no matter how much you suck up!

You're forgeting about several 2011 kids in at over 6 foot tall already, and have a great complete game!

Austin is a great kid, super sportsman .. but number 2 in the Nation??? Come on!!!!

Like Kurt Davis on the list for 2010. Should have been top 25 or better on Hoopscoop. Didn't like the fact Ray McCallum (2010) is not on your top 10.

2009- How come Tommy Griffin Houston Hoops is not on your list and Curtis Mag. is ahead of him?

Yeah I'm sure there are no political moves in these rankings.

All I'm saying is .. I saw several of these kids get shut down HARD through the year .. there are much better players out there in this age division, so if you want to talk about getting your story straight . . get out and actually watch the games and don't just sit around reading stats!

Astin Rivers is one of the more classier kids out there . . excellent kid, great sportsman like I said. But he was shut down several time in his home court at the Spring Classic!

There are so many talented kids on the Dream Team, and they play as a comeplete team, I just don't understand how you get Mr. Rivers rising to the top?

If you own your own "Scouting Service" you should get out and watch these kids play . . you MIGHT know what you're talking about that way ACE!

I saw the rankings you were talking about also . . and they forget about the Centers that play on ONE TEAM together! 6'3", 6'1" and 6'0" all with excellent game.

These boys kicked butt in the INdiana State Tournament, but had a team slip in some 8th graders to beat them! They killed us several times . . and I thought we had a pretty good team!

I don't even see those kids in the rankings. . and they shut down every Big Man on the floor I watched them play! Where do you guys get your information from????

I think the rankings are coming from a couple camps that are run through the summers. Most of these camps are invitation only, and the Shark players have not yet gained enough national notoriety. That's our fault Coach, not the fault of the Scouts looking at the players.

We're trying to get the Kids you're talking about out a little more, but as most of you know it's all about money for the most part, and getting the kids to these events and camps cost quite a bit.

Money is tight not only in the inner city teams but in the rural areas of the mid-west as well. The big problems are that the BIG SHOE money doen't recognize rural kids as an impact to the sport, so the support from Addidas, Nike and Reebock just isn't there.

Our kids went to Orlando this past spring and played against the Orlando Dream team, and we soon found out what level we "need" to play at. We do have a few kids that can hang at that level, and we were taller than any team down there .. we just hurt in the Guard department very bad last year! Our starting guard had some health problems last year, so that didn't help any.

Our BIG kids (6'3", 6'1" and 6'1/2") are NOT grade exception players either. They are legit 12 year olds, and still have some growing to do. One of the boys is sporting a size 15 shoe already . . abd he's the shortest of the 6 footers.

Austin Rivers lead his team to a very dominant win against us last spring. Although he did find it hard to shoot over our big kids, he made things happen throughout the game that didn't matter if he shot or not . . I guess thats the true role of a point guard!

Thanks for sticking up for the Indiana kids though . . but we still have some work to do. We have the height w/ the post skills, and the one with the big feet holds several records for Free Throw shooting! So He's going to do well inside or out.

We'll see if the BIG SHOE companies come out of the city and start looking at the future Larry Birds of the world! IF we can get these "Tree's" into the camps next year we'll see what the Scouts have to say about them then.

All we can hope for .. is the best!

You know.. after attending several "Phenom" and "middle school exposure" events that "rank" players. . I have to say I was VERY disapointed.

I witnessed kids getting high rankings on athletic ability only, and had VERY LITTLE basketball knowledge or experience.

I saw West Coast players ranked, that couldn't hit an outside shot or ever made a single pass.

I guess being from Indiana, we tend to look at the game a little differently, I always thought it was a team sport? Guess NOT in the West Coast.

Who ever gets the rebound gets to shoot the ball out there! LOL

We took a few kids from Indiana to the West Coast and they about went into shock at the lack of "basketball" that was actually played. It took them a coupledays to get accustomed to the BALL HOG style of play!

To be honest . . I prefer the way they learn the game in the Gym, NOT in the street.

christian vaughn is da shit, he is the best basketball player i seen besides dar tucker, christian is a stright up baller, this year he is going to be good too, because he has a good team around him, Demarcus Barney who is under rated, Jesus Gonzalez who is also under rated, also Teveon Whitson who is a stright up hooper, all of these people are all under rated but can hoop some niggas out

All these "JR Phenom" rankings and camps are all B___S___. It's just about exposure. It's not fair to all the 7th and 8th grade "ballers" are out there that don't have the resouces to attend camps or play AAU ball. And what about the 6'2" 8th grade centers that aren't growing anymore, where are they gonna fall in high school. Unless he's a guard his 8th grade ranking isn't gonna do him any good. I love working with young players but I don't agree with "ranking" them, it's to much room for error and far too many kids to really know.

Gonzalez, I wasn't going to respond because it sounds like you're a kid. But my son has been to camps (5 star, etc.) and he's been playing AAU for 5 years now. He is the best PG in his class in Virginia. I'm simply speaking for the kids who don't have the resources.
Thanks for replying though.

After AAU Nationals, we saw several teams that had better guards than the Rivers kid.He is good and has good size but these guards turned him over and held him to two points. The game I watched was the LBA Lakers against All Ohio Black. The point guard on All Ohio Black outplayed him, turned him over and had about 17 points to go on and finish sixth. Those guards are all better than some of those kids you have on there.

There is a kid named Terry Townsend that has a complete game and he has no team mates. He shoots 47.2% of hs 3pointers and 67.3% of his feild goals. the kid scored 28 points in his first game ever when he was in the 6th grade. He a beast.

I'm Lonnie Watson (5'11 - 140 pounds) from Paso Robles, California and I was wondering how I could get invited to the Adidas Invitational Camp or one of these other invitational camps around. My travel teams are Central Coast Swoosh & Elite, and Atascadero Fastbreak. My middle school team is Flamson Middle School and my game high was against our rivals Lewis Middle School when I scored 41 points and had 10 rebounds. My average is about 25 points per game and 7 rebounds and our current record is 5-1 going on Winter Break. I have good leaping ability (can dunk any ball that I can palm easy) and can get my teammates involved and am the best in my area for the class of 2010.

Sam Foyd is an highly advanced player. He's a 5'7 guard with great range and plenty of room to grow. There are some areas Sam needs to work on. He's defense is not the best in his class, he needs to improve on his shooting off of the dribble, and he needs some confidence in himself when he plays. Expect this kid to be in the top of his class, throughout his years of high school.

NJ's finest center/shooting guard cooper calzinetti is a big up and comer for the 2011. He is a dominant big man standing at 6'9 and blocks shots at will. He can ever shoot the 3 ball lights out!! He is a like a kevin garnett with ray allens shooting..hes a stud to look out for!

lavone Holland ll.hes one of the top middle school basketball players that i ever seen. They said he was from kentucky but he doesnt play like it. When i seen him play up in new york this pass summer. In the nike shoot out I seen him make 10 three's.in one game, and thats not all he can do.he got really good handles, great court vision, and a Allen Houston like pull up he has the total package. this kid is going to be really special. you just know when some players got it and he sure has it. I don't know how true this is but i heard hes been playing high school basketball sense the six grade you go figure and hes only 14 yrs old that puts him in the class of 2013. can anyone tell me when is he coming back to the city. or were can i get some footage of him.   you tube lavone holland you can see some footage of him hes really good.
